My 7th grade daughter absolutely loves this whole series and so do I! She is homeschooled and learns easily but gets bogged down sometimes by curricula and regular textbooks. These study guides have been a great way for her to learn the important information and retain it. We currently use the entire series as her "spine" for learning after using a plethora of curricula choices (online, classical, unit studies, you name it) in the past. She reads the chapter as an intro, then we research in other sources as needed (sometimes completing additional projects as well) and then she completes the quiz at the end of the chapter. We use the Math book along with ALEKS online math but the other books are a great scope & sequence for middle school students along with a few other supplemental materials. Her standardized test scores have increased drastically since we bought these books last fall, yet she feels like she's in control of her education and able to dive in deeper to the subjects as she wants/needs as part of our interest driven educational philosophy.

This a great book! It's fun and visually appealing! It's set up to make navigation easy and it's packed full of wonderfully explained information. I homeschool my children and my middle schooler uses this book daily to clarify information or to look up something he doesn't know. I find that it's very well made and I think it will last a long time even with daily use. I own one other book in this series and so far they are all great!

These book series are great. I bought math, history and science versions of these books. All of them do a wonderful job of conveying complex subjects in easy to digest chunks.5 stars if the quiz portions are irrelevant to you.- 1 star for quiz answers on the page directly behind the questions for each section or chapterI am using them for homeschooling my child. I wanted to use their questions as quizzes, but my kid can easily flip the page over to find the answer. This is unfortunate as it makes it difficult to determine whether or not my child understood the chapter based on the chapter questions. I would of much preferred all of the answers be in the back of the book, possibly even perforated so I can tear them off if I so wish.Aside from this issue, it's an excellent book. If this is not a concern for you, consider it a 5 star. I am still going to use them as a supplement to my child's education, but for our needs and considering the book is geared for high school and middle school students who tend to cut corners, I am knocking off one point. Would love future iterations to put all the answers in the index :)

This book is good for any age for as young as 9 to an adult am teaching my son and am learning myself. It is a good guide to follow to teach even what you yourself don't fully comprehend. This book was written so well that you will come to learn the lessons super quick and it is also very fun!

Finally get to add this book to my collection of Big Fat Notebooks! However, I soon noticed that this book is not nearly as helpful as it could be. The grammar section is too brief. While I do know that the book is supposed to cover all branches of ELA, I found the grammar part (only the first section), to be far too simple/basic. It is impossible to explain grammar to children in a mere 80 pages.I would highly recommend purchasing a second book on grammar from Brain Quest for more practice.

I would have given this book a five star as my 7th grade ELA students love it, many asked their parents to purchase it, but the book is missing two things. The first is information about symbolism which is a difficult topic to teach and the format of this book would have really helped the student learn it. I would have given a four star rating on this alone but it is also missing the index, which makes it difficult for students to find information easily. I purchased the same book with the index from Barnes and Noble for a reduced price with a 10% off coupon and 20% teacher discount. I will update my review if the replacement set I am receiving on Saturday has the index. The math teacher wants the math version - if it has an index.

Great book. Attractive enough to make you want to pick it up and read it. The graphics are colorful, the font is clear, and the highlights and titles are in bold print. Chapters are color coded. Check Your Knowledge questions and answer page included. Contents list all the units and it's coverage. What makes this book stand out from all the others is that it includes all the important information broken down in easy to understand text and simple to read maps. It's all you need to know and that's it. There are a total of 5 subjects in this series: they include Math, Science, English Language Arts, World History, American History in the series and we have all of them. This is definitely worth the investment. Parents will find this book and series simple to explain to your child and/or read with them. Nothing complicated. Buy this book and the others in the series. I highly recommend it.

This review is for both the product and the misleading description of the product. All in all the product itself is very nice. Very nicely made and looks like it will stand up to some pretty tough use, five stars for the product. However, I like another reviewer purchased this for the large print Archaeological study Bible. The dimensions listed under the product description are of the products overall dimensions and not what size Bible it will hold. Upon receiving the Bible the dimensions given on the tag are for the size of Bibles it will hold, they are as follows: 6 & 7/8" X 9 & 5/8" or (244 X 175mm). Also on the tag is a list of the Zondervan Bibles that will fit and yes the large print Archaeological study Bible is NOT listed as one that will fit. Fortunately, I have a KJV study Bible that needed a good home. I guess the large print Archaeological study Bible will be out of luck. Although, the Bible is actually to large to be carrying around any where, anyway. Well hopefully by posting the actual inside dimensions this will help others in making the right decision about whether or not to purchase this Bible cover.

So awesome!!! I love it!! Fits my Bible highlighters in the pockets and I can fit in a notebook inside as well, perfect!! Oh and I fit in my own KJV bible, not the archaeology bible.

the green in the photo is a little light, but it is the true darker khaki which looks great and matches wonderfully to the archeological bible!i think it advertised that it had a shoulder strap...mine didnt come with that,not sure it was truely supposed to. It's not really neaded.Pockets are a little small for my taste but my wife loves it, it's her bible anyway!Built to last! and well crafted.Great Buy! Probably my favorite of all our covers...it has personality.

I ordered this Bible cover to fit my ESV Study Bible (Bible is Large size with hardcover). It fits perfectly. I love the quality. It is very sturdy and it is a beautiful green-type color with a leather-look trim. It is just a stunning cover. I have had a lot of difficulty finding a cover large enough which would accommodate a Bible with a wide spine. I could only find one and it was just plain black and was in no way sturdy like this cover. This cover is very stylish. I am a woman but this cover could be used by a man also.I highly recommend this cover to fit the ESV Study Bible.

I was in need of a new Bible cover and was pretty excited about the look of this one. HOWEVER. No where in the product description does it state that this Bible cover is XL...I was so frustrated and disappointed at how huge it was, and the pockets on the front are also bulky. I'm sure i would be pleased with this item, if only it fit. It seems as though this product was made prior to the advent of the LARGE PRINT EDITION. I tried to fit this product to the book' however it's not just a little snug, it is simplely not made for this application, and no amout of persiverence will change the potential differences in size. I hope this helps save a bit of time, as im sure amazon will make right on the oversight, im sure its something we would all much rather avoid. Sincerely, Christopher Stephens

I was excited to read this book to learn more about the specific strategies and tactics that Bradley Tusk/his firm used in helping Uber navigate its regulatory battles, especially with NYC in 2015 - and he did not disappoint. Even though I've studied the rideshare industry and been deeply involved in mobility for 5 years, I learned a lot from this book. In Silicon Valley, there's a tendency to want to keep the playbook private but Bradley doesn't come from SV and that's what makes his work and viewpoint so unique. And it's also what makes this book a must read!The Fixer is easy to read and I like that Bradley combines theory/strategy with real life examples and playbooks of how he's helped specific companies like Uber, Eaze, etc navigate regulation and public policy. I thought the Uber example was the most detailed and the others were more anecdotes than anything. Bradley's background in politics makes for a great skillset when applied to tech but I didn't find the part in the book about his political biography (1/3) as interesting as the more tech focused parts of the book (2/3).Ultimately, this is definitely a book I enjoyed reading and would recommend to anyone interested in tech, startups, Uber, venture capital or politics.

Definitely worth reading, as it tells a story that is worth understanding. However, a bit too heavy-handed where the innovators are (somewhat flawed) white knights and the government is a passel of egomaniacs and thieves (not including Mike Bloomberg). I can't give half-stars on Amazon (really? why is that?) so I'll grade on the curve and give it a 4/5.

Repetitive at times, and the early political memoir and later half-baked policy proposal sections are meh, but the crunchy middle on startups handling regulation is worth the price of admission.

I truly enjoyed reading Bradley's book "The Fixer". Entrepreneur or not, if you have any political curiosity this isa must read. I learned so much and this book is a reminder you need to know what your Political Representatives stand forand VOTE.

If you have interest in contemporary politics, including how disruptive companies are breaking the code to break into highly regulated markets, 'The Fixer' merits a place on your reading list.Bradley Tusk is a lawyer and venture capitalist who reached prominence through his service for Uber and other technology-based start-ups. His writing style is breezy and easily engaged. The book is largely anecdotal. Noting this might appear to be faint praise, but it's not. Anecdotes, war stories are what one anticipates and seeks value from in the early phase of change. The conversational style includes lots of extraneous observations from the author, but they're generally entertaining, not irrelevant or without value.Tusk presents examples in various sectors, from cannabis through taxi cabs. He plies his trade largely in highly-regulated states such as New York, Illinois and California. His descriptions of New York are the most in-depth and interesting. Tusk has worked extensively with Michael Bloomberg and has choice opinions of various politicians, from Chuck Schumer to Bill de Blasio. Reading of his role--even discounting some foreseeable and forgivable self-puffery and pulling punches to preserve ongoing relationships--one is reminded of nothing so much as "bosses" of the past. Tusk is a freelance boss of sorts, bringing money and politicians together to achieve mutually beneficial results.Looking ahead, one wonders if Tusk will become a defender of incumbents and his challengers of today become the incumbents of tomorrow. But these are questions for another day. For now, anyone seeking to seeking a glimpse of today's political scene can find value in this engaging, conversational, highly informed book on money, power and politics in what will likely come to be seen as a transitional period in American politics.

I thought this book read like a memoir, with the first part focused on Tusk's experience as a political operative (mostly in New York politics--entering accidentally after meeting the mayor of Philly who's from New York at the Democratic Convention, with the latter offering him an internship in his office--from there Tusks works in the Parks Dept., gets himself hired as the Director of Communications for Senator Chuck Schumer, goes for a brief detour as a deputy governor in Illinois, working for Rob Blagojevic before the start of all his legal problems, and then returns to New York to help Bloomberg with his campaign). The second part of this book follows Tusk's experience in starting his own consulting company to help others navigate the local politics, working with companies like Uber back when it was a small start-up. Throughout the memoir, Tusk shares some of his observations about politicians (people running for office tend to be full of insecurity, so the one who has power is the one who can control all the attention), scaring off rivals from running against you (as in the case of Anthony Weiner), and the media, among other things. I thought it was a light read. As someone unfamiliar with the behind-the-scenes world of politics, it was interesting reading about the kind of things that go on.

 I own several coloring books by Tatiana Bogema Stolova. They are mostly line drawing books though a few have hints of grayscale shading within them.This is a very different book as the designs are have more shading by use of lines and cross hatch than any of the others do. While there is a lot of this shading, there are still many areas within the designs which are line drawings. The designs are detailed and some have intricate areas to color.For some, this type of shading might be too much. For others (like myself), who struggle with adding texture to fur on animals, having the extra lines makes coloring easier. It gives me a pattern to follow with my own color pencils strokes.The subjects of the designs are also very different as they are both more realistic and more fantasy at the same time. The artist states (in the product blurb) that these are different designs which she was asked (by fans) to release.I’m so glad that she did – it presents a whole new look at her art. I hope that she gives consideration to new coloring books which explore this type of artwork in more detail.This is what I found in this coloring book:22 Detailed fantasy designs with a heavier use of cross hatch and shading details in the book. There are many additional bonus designs included from other coloring books by this artist.Printed one side of the pagePaper is typical inexpensive quality by CreateSpace printing: white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated. The back of these pages are most printed black to obscure bleed through from various wet mediums (see below.)The designs do not merge into the binding.Glue BindingCreate Space Paper/Media QualityAlcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work fairly well with this publisher’s paper provided you don’t press extremely hard while coloring. I find that I can layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and blended easily with a pencil style blending stick. This is true of both oil and wax based pencils. I have also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.Even though the back of the page is black, bleed through does occur. I like to use a blotter when working in this type of book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.

Only half of this book is vintage coloring pages, the other half is sample coloring pages from other books.I bought this book thinking it was all vintage coloring pages, the ones that were was really nice looking + fun to color.Maybe you should have it in the description of the book that they only go half way through, then becomes sample pages.

Disappointed! Honest review! Granted it was only $6.00. The pages appear similar to regular 20wgt copy paper, and like they were just spit out of a copier. Like dollar store kids’ color books. Some of the pages have a double image like when you put multiple pages on the copier & the copier light gets the 2nd page & it makes a faded out design on the main page. They also have the look when the copier density is set too dark & the images have dark grey background. There’s no way these pages would support watercolor.The high quality colorbooks by Hanna Karlzon, Maria Trolle, Johanna Basford, Leila Duty & Klara Markova have beautiful images, nice wgt paper, & makes color penciled artwork amazing. These artitists have me spoiled to their artistry & high quality books.

Pictures are lovely. I would enjoy coloring them, but most have so many blackened, shaded in areas, that I'm really going to be limited in putting my own touches on them. Coloring for me is much more than staying within the lines. I want the freedom to create depth and highlights through color rather than having them defined by black spaces or black lines that I can't change.

I really like this coloring book. It's not really a gray scale but it has shading in places that allow the picture to have depth. I used a liquid blender and it worked well. Would love to see more books by this artist.

What a beautiful book drawn in a very unique way! It's not necessarily grayscale nor is it a simple line art but something in between. It's definitely a fantastic result! I do have two complaints with the book, one of them being that I have no idea what some are the pictures are and the second is that half the book is dedicated to previews of her other books. There are just over 20 images for this book and then 20 previews for other books. I thought I was getting more vintage classic coloring pages than what I really did receive. Printing is your typical thin create space paper, this artist does not choose to have full pages of black on the back but Pages mostly black and framed in white.

Advertising the book as a new book and adding old drawings is misleading. This is my first and last time purchasing a book from this author. I prefer more intricate drawings and I DO NOT like the second half of the book. The only reason I did not return the book I colored the first page. NEVER AGAIN!

I found very few pages I am interested in coloring. I do not understand why artists want to put animals in odd scenes or those Mandala-type things. I am having a hard time finding simple animal pictures or scenes that are interesting to me. I use pricey ink markers so prefer perforated pages and of course, single-sided pictures, preferably without that black backing.
