If you're looking for a source on how to use your new Amazon Alexa this book is it. I highly recommend buying this user guide because the author really does share all of his knowledge on this device. The "directions" that come with your new device look like a brief compared to this. Remember, Amazon is constantly tweaking, changing, and updating the capabilities of their products, so be the first to know by having this book!
I have an Alexa and a couple Echo dots. I also have a handful of "smart devices" that I haven't been able to hook up properly to my Alexa App. I mostly read through this book looking for advice on how to set up those. The book mentioned an update newsletter option, but the book said it was updated for 2018/2019, so I feel like it should have been okay with mine (Dec 2018)The book indicated I should use my mobile app and go to "Music, Videos & Books" to hook up my FireTV. My iPhone app only has a "Music & Books" option, and I couldn't find a way to do it. Since the book does mention that there was a major update that would remove the Video portion, I at least knew why the instructions weren't working for me, but it was still frustrating. Similarly, my "Skills & Games" section on the main menu or through the "Things to Try" option reroutes to Music for some reason.In general, the book and information was well-written and arranged in a logical manner; however, because of the massive changes and updates overtime, it just didn't work for me.
